In ARC Raiders, a game defined primarily by intense, fast-paced raids, Scrappy stands out as a rare, lighthearted feature; you can think of this amusing rooster as a pet you keep back at your base, Speranza.
Although Scrappy cannot be taken into combat to assist you directly, whenever you are out fighting on the ground, it will simultaneously generate various materials back at the base, which you can then collect upon your return.
Given its entertaining nature, Scrappy has always garnered significant interest from players. Consequently, Flashpoint update in March introduced fresh changes to the rooster, enabling it to generate even greater yields.
In this guide, IGGM will analyze Scrappy’s core mechanics and test its practical utility following the update to determine just how valuable it truly is.
Scrappy mechanics overview
This rooster appears in your workshop right from the start, requiring no additional steps to unlock. Once acquired, whenever you head out on a raid, Scrappy will generate various types of materials for you back at the base as time passes:
-
Metal Parts
-
Fabric
-
Plastic Parts
-
Chemicals
-
Rubber Parts
-
Assorted Seeds
Scrappy begins at Level 1, but you can upgrade it by collecting specific materials, reaching a maximum level of 5. The materials required for these upgrades are as follows:
-
Level 1 to 2: 1x Dog Collar
-
Level 2 to 3: 3x Lemon, 3x Apricot
-
Level 3 to 4: 6x Prickly Pear, 6x Olives, 1x Cat Bed
-
Level 4 to 5: 12x Mushroom, 12x Apricot, 3x Very Comfortable Pillow
Compared to ARC Raiders blueprints for sale or other high-tier resources, these upgrade materials are not particularly difficult to find; simply make sure to loot as many containers as possible while scavenging.
Note that plant-based materials tend to spawn more frequently during Lush Blooms events.
The higher Scrappy’s level, the greater the quantity of items it generates; however, the specific amount also depends on how long you remain out on your raid:
-
Greater than 1 Minute
-
Greater than 6 Minutes
-
Greater than 15 Minutes
The value of Scrappy
If you are a newcomer to the game, or if you have just completed an expedition cycle and are entering a new ARC Raiders season, your inventory is likely completely empty at this moment.
To better prepare for upcoming battles, you need to immediately start farming materials required to upgrade your workshops and craft weapons.
Among these, gear blueprints are both the most difficult to acquire and the most in-demand, so they should be your top priority.
This is where Scrappy comes in handy! It allows you to focus more intently on securing blueprints during raids, without having to divert your attention to gathering other materials.
Of course, if you’re seeking the ultimate combat experience and don’t want to waste time on item farming, you can also buy ARC Raiders blueprints directly from IGGM!

Our blueprint trading options are not only comprehensive but also completely secure, ensuring the fastest possible delivery to you.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to acquire a specific piece of gear directly, bypassing the crafting process entirely, we can help you do that, too!
What changes do Flashpoint update introduce?
Previously, the items generated by Scrappy were completely random. While you shouldn’t expect this rooster to single-handedly provide all the crafting materials you need, it’s certainly much better if the items it yields align more closely with your specific requirements.
Fortunately, Flashpoint update has taken a significant step toward achieving this goal! You can now feed Scrappy specific items to boost the generation rate of particular material types:
-
Olives: Increases the chance of generating medical lab materials or equipment.
-
Fruit Mix: Increases the chance of generating high-quality topside materials.
-
Mushrooms: Increases the chance of generating materials or equipment needed to upgrade Gear Bench.
-
Agave: Increases the chance of generating mods or materials used to craft mods.
-
Apricots: Increases the chance of generating materials or equipment needed to upgrade Gunsmith.
-
Lemons: Increases the chance of generating materials or equipment needed to upgrade Explosives Station.
-
Prickly Pears: Increases the chance of generating materials or equipment needed to upgrade Utility Station.
This feature works by first adding the items you intend to feed Scrappy to a designated food queue. These fruits then enter a pending state, and Scrappy will consume them once you enter a raid.
Afterward, provided you remain in the raid for at least six minutes, you are guaranteed to receive a random item, the type of which will correspond to the specific boost provided by the fruit you fed Scrappy.
As for how to acquire each of these edible items, IGGM has compiled a list for you below:
-
Olives: Found inside Wicker Baskets while scavenging, or harvested directly from olive trees within Blue Gate map area.
-
Fruit Mix: Master In-Round Crafting skill, then consume 1 Lemon, 1 Apricot, and 1 Prickly Pear to craft it.
-
Mushroom: Find Wicker Baskets while scavenging, or search near water, pipes, and trees within Dam Battlegrounds and Spaceport maps.
-
Agave: Find Wicker Baskets while scavenging, or harvest an Agave Plant.
-
Apricot: Find Wicker Baskets while scavenging, or harvest an Apricot Tree.
-
Lemon: Find Wicker Baskets while scavenging, or harvest a Lemon Tree.
-
Prickly Pear: Find Wicker Baskets while scavenging, or harvest a Prickly Pear Cactus.
Which food item offers the best return?
In truth, this depends largely on your personal preferences and needs; however, generally speaking, Agave and Apricots offer the most broadly applicable rewards, as they have the potential to yield some rather rare items:
-
Agave: Queen Reactor, Matriarch Reactor, and more.
-
Apricot: Kinetic Converter, Horizontal Grip, and more.
If you are looking to acquire the weapon attachments required for Wolfpack or Deadline, Lemons are an excellent choice. If you prefer quick-use items, such as Snap Hook, then giving Prickly Pears a try is a great idea.
The information above covers the key details you need to know to maximize your returns using Scrappy at this stage of the game. We hope this proves helpful for your future ARC Raiders experiences!
